The Mövenpick M/S Prince Abbas was awarded the “Best Floating Vessel on Lake Nasser” in 2007 by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism, plying the tranquil waters of Lake Nasser and has recently been renovated to provide additional comfort and facilities. To the south of Aswan stands Lake Nasser, an enormous reservoir formed by the building of the Aswan High Dam. The vast reservoir is some 550 kilometres long and 35 kilometres across at its widest point and is close to the Tropic of Cancer. It covers a total surface area of 5,250 square kilometers and has a storage capacity of approximately 157 cubic kilometers of water.

The five-star cruise ship offers 43 spacious and well-appointed standard cabins of approximately 21 square metres, 18 junior suites of approximately 30 square metres and 4 royal suites of approximately 40 square metres. All cabins have an en-suite shower and benefit from individually controlled air-conditioning and a choice of double or twin beds. The facilities include hairdryer, television, internal telephone, safe deposit boxes, and a mini-bar. Each cabin has comfortable seating and panoramic windows. Royal suites are additionally equipped with DVD player and generous living accommodation, which enable them to be used for triple occupancy. 24 hour reception and a souvenir shop are located on the main deck, laundry and room service is also available. All cabins aboard the Mövenpick M/S Prince Abbas are nonsmoking cabins.
